Call for Nominations for the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba Election of Council Members

The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (the College) will be conducting an Election of Council Members to serve for a two-year term, beginning immediately after the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, May 7, 2022. 

The by-laws governing the nomination of individuals to stand for Council election, and the procedure for nominating candidates are briefly as follows: 

  1. As per College by-law 5.02, the province is divided into two electoral districts:
    a) Electoral District No. 1 – The City of Winnipeg
    b) Electoral District No. 2 – All areas of the Province of Manitoba outside the City of Winnipeg.
  2. Further, by-law 5.05(b) indicates a candidate must be practicing the profession of pharmacy in the Electoral District in which he or she seeks election and, should the candidate be eligible for election in more than one district described in section 5.02, the candidate must declare the one district in which they will seek election.
  3. As per by-law 5.05(d), any two registrants of the College, who are licenced pharmacists and are eligible to vote, may, regardless of where they reside or practice their profession, nominate candidates for election to Council.
  4. Registrants who nominate candidates to stand for election to Council are required to obtain the following from the person nominated:
    a) Signed Nomination Form indicating willingness to stand as a candidate for election to Council
    b) A Candidate Profile and Statement
    c) Recent Photograph of candidate nominated
  5. As per the College by-law 5.06(e), nomination documents may be delivered, mailed, or emailed to the College office.

Nominations must be received at the College office by 4;00 p.m. CST Wednesday, March 9, 2022. 

Only complete nominations will be considered. 

Following the close of nominations and when an election is required, electronic voting instructions will be prepared and forwarded to each registrant eligible to vote.
