Updating Your Status and Information as a Pharmacy Professional
Pharmacy Professionals must inform CPhM whenever there are changes to their status (i.e., changing the class of registration) or personal/work information (employment record, legal name change, etc.).
Changes to your Information
Pharmacy professionals can update the following information in their Registrant Portal, including but not limited to:
- Legal Name Change
- Contact Information
- Employment Record
You can use the Registrant Portal Guide to find step-by-step information how to update certain sections of your profile. To access the document, follow the instructions below:
- Login to your https://cphm.alinityapp.com/Client/Account/Login
- Go to My Groups
- Select Active Registrants
- Look for the Registrant Portal Guide folder and you will find the PDF document
Kindly take note that there are certain sections that will be subject for CPhM’s administrative review and approval. You will receive an email once the profile update form has been reviewed, approved or if returned with feedback.
Change in Class of Registration
Please take note it is only at renewal is it cost-effective to convert your class of registration. A pharmacy professional may plan in advance, converting their class of registration during a renewal period in the fall, to take effect 1st January of the upcoming practice year.
You are encouraged to consult with CPhM via registration@cphm.ca to determine the best course of action for your individual situation.
If you would like to pursue changing your class of registration outside of renewal period, please email registration@cphm.ca with the subject line “Registration Change | <Your Name> <Your License or Listing Number>” (sample: Registration Change | John Smith #12345).

Frequently Asked Questions
- I would like to change my class of registration from active practice to a non-active status (Non-Practicing, Inactive/Retired, Voluntary Cancellation). Will I be refunded the difference in practice fee?
- Please be advised that there is no financial incentive to convert your class of registration, from active practice to non-active status part way through a practice year. Practice fees are non-refundable.
- I will be going on a leave of absence (e.g. parental, medical leave). Do I have to switch to a non-active status (i.e. Non-Practicing, Inactive/Retired, Voluntary Cancellation)?
- If you are on a leave of absence (e.g. parental leave, medical leave) from a permanent position of employment, you may may choose to maintain registration with a licence to practice, or may convert to the Non-Practicing class of registration for the upcoming practice year. Please confer with your employer to decide which registration and licence class aligns with their expectations and legal responsibilities for the role and responsibilities you hold for the practice year.
Please note, pharmacists intending to practise pharmacy in any capacity in the upcoming practice year must renew registration and licence to practise.
Additionally, you are not required to hold professional liability insurance while you are in the Non-Practicing class of registration, but you may choose to continue your policy. You are advised to confer with your professional liability insurance provider to understand your coverage and risk exposure.
