CPhM Land Acknowledgment: Our Commitment to Reconciliation
The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM) recognizes the importance of acknowledging the traditional lands where we gather, work, and learn. We are proud to share our updated land acknowledgment, developed with input from Indigenous communities and other interested, affected, and relevant parties.
Our Land Acknowledgment
The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba acknowledges that we gather on Treaty 1 territory, the home and traditional lands of the Anishinaabe, Ininewak, Anishininewak, Dakota Oyate, and Denesuline Nations, as well as in the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. We recognize Indigenous peoples’ enduring connection to this land and commit to cultural humility within our regulatory practices. By embracing the diversity of knowledge within these communities, we strive to cultivate a culturally responsive pharmacy profession that meets the unique needs of all people living in Manitoba.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba recognizes that relationships with Indigenous communities are dynamic and evolving. We approach this land acknowledgment as a living statement, shaped by ongoing learning and guided by the wisdom of Indigenous peoples. We humbly invite feedback from Indigenous communities, interested, affected, and relevant parties, and the public to ensure it continues to reflect respect, understanding, and relevance.
This acknowledgment is part of our broader journey toward reconciliation, one that requires listening, reflecting, and adapting as our understanding grows. By welcoming dialogue and embracing change, we strive to uphold our commitment to meaningful engagement and culturally responsive practices.
