The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM) is the governing body responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization and ensuring that CPhM meets its mandate to uphold the public interest in regulating pharmacy professionals. The Council consists of members of the public appointed by the Minister, and registrants appointed by the CPhM Appointments Committee.
The CPhM governance framework uses an appointments process to select pharmacy professionals to serve on Council. Candidates are considered for appointment based on a set of competencies that Council members should have or be willing to acquire.
CPhM Council is committed to creating a diverse, inclusive, and equitable environment and encourages applications from all candidates who would add to the diversity of Council and contribute positively to the governance of the organization.
The CPhM Council competencies matrix is part of the application form. This matrix outlines the attributes, skills, and experience that are being sought. Some are attributes that each individual shall embody; some are competencies that the Council, as a whole, seeks to encompass. Do not be discouraged if you only have experience in a couple of these areas – not every Council member is required to possess all the competencies, skills, or attributes, nor does the Council seek to have each competency, skill or attribute represented equally. The goal of the Council is to achieve balance and reflect diversity in its composition. You are required to provide examples of how you meet competencies, skills and/or attributes as part of the application.
