Reminder: Renewal Deadline – November 15, 2025 & Updated Renewal Guide
The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM) is currently conducting its annual registration and licence/listing renewal.
Key reminders:
- Pharmacy professionals and pharmacies must complete the online renewal by Saturday, November 15, 2025, to avoid late fees.
- Please note: There will be no staff support to assist with renewal after 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025. It is highly recommended that all pharmacy professionals finish their annual renewal before that time to avoid unnecessary delays.
- All components of the renewal must be completed by the deadline, including paying the applicable fee(s).
- Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacies who fail to renew on or before the deadline will incur a late fee, equal to 50% of the renewal fee, being added.
- A pharmacy professional, regardless of class of registration, who does not renew by December 31, 2025, will be removed from the register or listing as a result of non-payment and must initiate an application to reinstate their registration and licence/listing if they wish to practice in the 2026 Practice Year.
To enter learning activities in your online Professional Development (PD) Log, please note the following:
- During renewal, you will not be able to enter your PD through the “My Learning Plan” tab; instead, you will enter PD as you complete the renewal process. Once you begin the renewal, there will be a section of the renewal form which requires you to enter your learning activities.
- Please ensure you click SAVE FOR LATER every 2 or 3 entries so that your progress is saved.
CPhM is continually reviewing its processes to align with best practice principles for professional regulation in the public interest. Refer to the updated Renewal Guide in the Registrant Portal for helpful information and updates to registration and licence to practice or listing requirements during a leave of absence.

Hospital Practice Direction Project Early Focus Groups: Hospital Pharmacy Professionals’ Participation Wanted
The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM) is developing a new Hospital Practice Direction (HPD). For an overview of the Project, please see summer communications in the College’s Friday Five and Newsletter.
The Project responds to CPhM’s legislated mandate to serve and protect the public interest through regulating the practice of pharmacy, including practice occurring in hospital/acute care. The forthcoming HPD will be aligned with the current legislative framework governing pharmacy practice (The Pharmaceutical Act and corresponding Pharmaceutical Regulation).
CPhM Council is responsible for creation and maintenance of all regulatory guidance for professionals including Practice Directions, Policies, and the Code of Ethics. These directives and documents support pharmacy professionals in providing safe patient care and aim to fulfill the regulatory mandate. Council directed the overhaul of the existing 2004 Hospital Standards of Practice via motion decision. The new HPD is expected to be completed in 2026.
Council is committed to engaging key partners in the development of guidance for professionals. Currently, the HPD project is seeking to engage hospital/acute care pharmacists (including managers) and technicians through participation in focus groups. These focus groups are an early opportunity for hospital pharmacy professionals to contribute to the Project.
Focus group purpose: Participation in these focus groups helps the project reach a wide population of hospital/acute care pharmacy professionals and encourages meaningful and useful hospital practitioner input. Specifically, focus groups will discuss proposed content and design of an electronic questionnaire related to patient safety risks existing within hospital practice. Whether you are a pharmacist, pharmacy technician or pharmacy manager within hospital, your perspective will help achieve an efficient and intuitive data collection tool.
Focus groups details:
- Include 5-7 participants per group
- Include pharmacists, pharmacists in charge and pharmacy technicians
- Occur virtually
- One hour duration
- Involve informal discussion
- Be facilitated by the project consultant, Katrina Mulherin, BSc Pharm, PharmD
- Proposed for the following dates/times:
- Tuesday, November 25 at 1pm CDT
- Thursday, November 27 at 6pm CDT
To express interest in joining a focus group, please complete the HPD Project Focus Group Interest Form.
The HPD project will be seeking further widespread input from all pharmacy professionals in early 2026. We look forward to hearing from you as the Project progresses.
Consultation on Changes to the Joint Practice Direction: Electronic Transmission of Prescriptions
The College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM) invites you to provide feedback on the proposed updates to the Joint Practice Direction: Electronic Transmission of Prescriptions. These updates reflect an important step in interprofessional collaboration with midwives, as well as provide clarity surrounding references to narcotics and controlled drugs. As part of CPhM’s commitment to transparency and accountability, Council is initiating a 30-day consultation period, which ends on December 4, 2025.
Learn More: Explore the comprehensive information on the consultation, including detailed documents and rationale for the proposed changes, on the dedicated Consultation webpage.
Provide Feedback: To participate in the consultation, please submit your feedback and comments via email to feedback@cphm.ca by December 4, 2025.
