New Safety IQ Academy Blog: Building a Safety-First Culture with Effective Onboarding

Onboarding new pharmacy staff is essential to maintaining a safe and effective pharmacy environment. A well-trained team is better equipped to provide quality care, reduce errors, and contribute to a positive workplace culture. Beyond training for specific roles, it’s crucial to integrate safety practices from day one.

Safety IQ’s latest blog post explores strategies to foster a safety-first culture during onboarding. These include promoting open communication about medication errors, using competency assessments to ensure staff readiness, and mentoring new employees. A strong safety culture encourages both new and existing staff to feel comfortable seeking help when needed, preventing errors before they happen.

By creating a supportive and transparent environment, pharmacies can improve patient safety and empower staff to fulfill their roles confidently.
