How to List From Another Jurisdiction Within Canada
You are eligible for listing as a pharmacy technician with CPhM if:
- you are a pharmacy technician currently licensed in another jurisdiction in Canada; or
- you are a pharmacy technician graduate from a Canadian CCAPP-accredited pharmacy program or CPhM-approved technician bridging program and are not currently licensed in another jurisdiction in Canada.
Licensed in Another Canadian Jurisdiction
If you are a pharmacy technician licensed in another jurisdiction in Canada, complete the Pharmacy Technician – Mobility Agreement Application and submit your application and supporting documents along with the applicable fee to the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba.

Graduates of a CCAPP Accredited Canadian Pharmacy Technician Program or CPhM Approved Technician Bridging Program
Graduates of a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) accredited Canadian pharmacy technician program can complete the requirements and application process to become listed with the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba (CPhM).

Pharmacy assistants with sufficient practice experience in Canada can qualify for listing by completing a CPhM approved pharmacy technician bridging program. CPhM Council approved the Eastern College Pharmacy Technician Bridging Program. Please visit the Eastern College Pharmacy Technician Bridging Program page for more information on eligibility and program requirements.
Additional listing requirements for CCAPP or bridging graduates can be found below.
Step 1: Education Completion
Successfully complete a CCAPP-accredited Canadian pharmacy technician program or CPhM approved pharmacy technician bridging program.
Step 2: PEBC Certification
Successfully complete the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC) Qualifying Examination Part 1 and 2. See www.pebc.ca for more information.
PEBC Qualifying Exam certification expires after 3 years in Manitoba.
Step 3: Submit your Application to the College
Submit the appropriate pharmacy technician application and all supporting documents. (Note, you can complete Step 3 before Step 2, but all steps must be completed in order to be eligible for listing).
You will be notified once your application has been reviewed and you can proceed with the remaining steps.
Step 4: Complete the SPT Program and JP Exam Requirements
Applicants must complete the Structured Practical Training (SPT) Program and Jurisprudence Modules and Exam .
Structured Practical Training (SPT) Program
You must successfully complete all parts of the Structured Practical Training (SPT) Program and the Pharmacy Jurisprudence Modules and Exam to be listed as a pharmacy technician in Manitoba.
Graduates of a CCAPP-accredited Canadian pharmacy technician program or CPhM approved bridging program who list less than three years post-graduation, must complete a minimum of 240 hours of structured practical training.
Graduates of a CCAPP-accredited Canadian pharmacy technician program or CPhM approved bridging program who list three or more years post-graduation, must complete a minimum of 360 hours of structured practical training.
To begin the SPT Program, you must
- find a practice site and supervisor;
- complete and submit the Pharmacy Technician Structured Practical Training Notification Form to the College; and
- receive approval from the College to begin an SPT program.

You will need to complete parts of the SPT Program again if you do not become listed with CPhM within one year of completing your SPT Program.
Jurisprudence Modules and Exam
Before CPhM can schedule you to write the Jurisprudence (JP) Exam, you must complete the Pharmacy Jurisprudence Modules.

Step 5: Approval of Listing
Once you have successfully completed all steps and have submitted the required forms and documentation, you are eligible to be listed as a pharmacy technician by CPhM. You will receive a notice by email once your application has been approved.
The Registrar and/or the Board of Examiners retain the authority to consider each individual application on its own merits and to exercise discretion in setting additional conditions of that applicant, based on the individual particulars of that application.
